Lana Pauline Schindler


OTHELLO–Lana P. Schindler, 74, of Othello passed away Thursday morning, October 25, 1990 at her home.

She was born January 22, 1916 in Yakima to McKinney and Bessie Lambert. She lived in Yakima for many years and graduated from Wapato High School in 1934. She was married to Norman J. Hilbert in Seattle in 1938. During W.W. II she worked repairing carburetors for the Seattle Transit System. The Hilbert's returned to Yakima after the war to operate a service station. Mr. Hilbert passed away in Yakima in 1963.

Lana was married to Howard Schindler in 1966. They moved to Pasco then to Othello in 1967. Mr. Schindler passed away in 1977.

She was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in Othello and a member of the Women of the Moose in Moses Lake.

She is survived by two daughters, Valerie Stephenson of Eugene, OR and Sue Kugler of Othello, five grandchildren; Becky, Paul and Isaac Stephenson and Jennifer and Stefanie Kugler; one brother, Dow Lambert of Yakima, and two sisters, Wilma Dunn of Hemet, CA and Eloise Bonett of Seattle, WA.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 3 at 2 p.m. at the Othello Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements by Muscott-Stevens Funeral Chapel of Othello.

Lana is buried at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima.
