Motherhood
1945 - 1955
Life, as Lenore has known it, is about to end. |
Lenore with Steven Meredith Lambert, born 02 Feb 1945 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. Lenore stayed in the hospital for ten days, and the total bill was $126.70. Steve says that Lenore once told him "I didn't have to get married...it just seemed like a good idea to do it sooner than later!" |

Lenore with McKinney Dow Lambert III, born 22 May 1950. Dow must have been too ugly to photograph when he was born, since this is the earliest photo of him in the family archives. |
In 1954 Lenore had surgery on her feet to correct problems caused by arthritis. She wore these casts for many months. The day they came off she went dancing with Dow,and Art and Lois Rediske. |
She got around pretty well, but her mother came to stay for a couple months to help out. Lenore's mantra for adversity was, "This, too, shall pass." And so it did. |
In 1956, when Dow started first grade, Lenore resumed her education and community service activities. |
