In 1961, Yakima celebrated its Diamond Jubilee. All the men had to grow beards or suffer the consequences in mock courts. Dow looks rather devilish in this picture.

Dow and Lenore, about 1985

Dow was an active member of the Yakima Elk's Club. He was an enthusiastic golfer, and joined the Elks primarily to use the golf course, but soon became active in membership activities. He rose through the various ranks and became Exalted Ruler in about 1980. His experience as a radio announcer served him well in the annual ceremony competitions between Elks clubs. This photo is from one such competition in about 1975.

This photo of Dow and Lenore was taken at an Elk's convention in Miami, Florida in 1975.

An avid golfer since 1946, Dow played in many local tournaments, including this one in 1985.

Dow thinks he will make this putt.

Dow loved to sing, and sang with several choirs over the years, including the Englewood Christian Church choir (1962-2002), the Yakima Symphony Chorus (1971-1999), and the Camerata Club (1969-1972, and 1992-2002). This picture was taken at the 1993 International Choral Festival in Leavenworth, WA, shortly after the Camerata Club was re-activated in 1992 after dis-banding 20 years earlier.
